TAKE A BREAK IN LAKE TAHOE

One of the most beautiful lakeside hikes is the Rubicon Trail. You can start it from several places.  Since we started late, we had to leave from Eagle Point Campground to find a parking spot. The hike goes through Emerald Bay which is a super beautiful beach! Then you can continue hiking to DL Bliss state park. The path is very beautiful and offers increasingly beautiful views of the lake and the mountains that surround it. There are also very beautiful views of the bay.  The hike from the parking lot to DL bliss state park lasted 3h30 one way (although plan that you will have to go back this way).  The hike is quite easy.
Another very beautiful hike that offers an exceptional view of Lake Tahoe is the Mount Tallac trail. This one is 10 miles – 16 km with 915 m of elevation. Personally, I did it in 6 hours. To access it, there is a small parking lot at the beginning of the hike but go early because this parking lot is not large and the hike is known. Do not forget to fill in the free permit at the entrance of the hike. The hike is difficult because in addition to steep climbing, you are in rocks for a good part of the hike trying to find the way and being careful where you step. When I was there, there were still snowy parts on the trail, which did not facilitate the hike. But once up there, the view is clearly worth the effort!  A great view! 

I hesitated for a long time to go through Lake Tahoe because of my timing. But nature decided otherwise and Yellowstone being closed due to flooding, I was able to stay longer at Lake Tahoe to rest and discover this beautiful lake. And I must admit that the lake is super beautiful! A great discovery.
